The crystalline timber canopy of Enota's Swimming Pools functions as a powerful symbolic threshold between earthly sanctuary and celestial aspiration, its faceted geometry evoking both the mineral structure of natural cave formations and the aspirational reach of Gothic vault systems translated into contemporary material vocabulary. The triangular apertures penetrating the wooden surface carry layered meanings within architectural symbolism, serving simultaneously as practical light sources, as symbolic eyes or windows connecting interior refuge with cosmic awareness, and as geometric meditations on the trinity and dynamic stability inherent in three-pointed forms. The aquamarine pool water below activates archetypal associations with purification, renewal, and the primordial womb of creation, its horizontal plane establishing a grounding counterpoint to the ascending energy of the overhead structure. The central column rising from water through architectural canopy embodies the axis mundi archetype, the world tree or cosmic pillar connecting earthly and heavenly realms, its sculptural presence organizing spatial experience around a sacred center. The extensive integration of living vegetation invokes garden paradise imagery, suggesting the enclosed garden or hortus conclusus tradition wherein cultivated nature within architectural embrace represents spiritual sanctuary and earthly paradise recovered. The warm amber and honey tones of the timber panels carry associations with golden light, harvest abundance, and the nurturing warmth of natural materials that connect contemporary inhabitants with ancestral shelter-making traditions. The geometric vocabulary of facets and angles suggests crystalline perfection and the hidden mathematical order underlying natural formation, positioning human craft as revelation of cosmic structure. The overall spatial experience invites interpretation as contemporary sacred space, where the restorative program of wellness bathing gains architectural expression through forms that honor both bodily comfort and spiritual aspiration.
Termalija Family Wellness is the latest in the series of projects which Enota has built at Terme Olimia in the last fifteen years and concludes the complete transformation of the spa complex. Viewed from a distance, the shape, color and scale of new clustered structure of tetrahedral volumes is a continuation of the cluster of the surrounding rural buildings, visually extending into the heart of the complex. The new roof acts as a big summer shade and doesn't usurp any of the precious exterior space.
