Queen of Lake Multifunctional Ring

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

Encoded within Mehragin Rahmati's Queen of Lake Multifunctional Ring lies a rich symbolic vocabulary drawing upon aquatic mythology and the archetypal associations of precious materials across cultures, the pearl at center carries millennia of symbolic weight as emblem of purity emerging from transformation, the irritant within the mollusk becoming luminous treasure through patient organic process, a metaphor for wisdom gained through experience and beauty arising from adversity, its placement at compositional center suggests the precious singular truth around which complexity organizes, the lake reference in the title evokes the archetypal feminine waters of reflection and depth, surfaces concealing mysteries below, the quatrefoil arrangement of surrounding elements connects to sacred geometry traditions where four-fold symmetry represents earthly completion and the four cardinal directions, four seasons, four elements of classical philosophy, tanzanite's violet-blue resonance activates associations with spiritual insight and elevated consciousness, the color historically linked to royalty through its rarity and to the liminal space between red vitality and blue transcendence, gold as solar metal carries meanings of divine light, incorruptibility, and highest value across virtually all human cultures, its warm yellow suggesting the life-giving sun, while diamonds multiply light into spectral fire, traditionally symbolizing invincibility, clarity, and eternal love, the floral morphology of the setting connects to universal symbols of growth, beauty, and the fleeting preciousness of bloom, the presentation upon a feminine hand beside a face of classical beauty reinforces associations between adornment, identity expression, and the celebration of embodied grace, the overall composition suggests a meditation upon treasures both material and spiritual, the pearl of wisdom held within structures of earthly beauty.

This multifunctional handcrafted ring is designed with the idea of being versatile. It can easily transform into a pendant or a brooch. Each side of the ring is delicately designed. Even the back side is handmade and adorned with a tanzanite stone. Despite its large size, the ring is comfortable to wear. The concept behind designing Queen of Lake is Monet's Water Lilies and the unique application of colors by Monet, who suffered from visual impairment, but that didn't stop him from his iconic creative path. This ring is a reflection of a designer's innovative artistic vision.
