The architectural language of this residential interior operates through a sophisticated system of material symbolism wherein concrete and timber engage in meaningful dialogue about permanence and warmth, structure and nurture, the industrial and the domestic. The extensive library shelving system functions as more than storage infrastructure, representing instead the archetypal repository of knowledge, memory, and cultural accumulation that has signified intellectual aspiration and cultivated dwelling since antiquity. The grid organization of the shelving echoes modernist principles of rational order while the natural wood grain introduces organic variation that softens this geometry, suggesting a reconciliation between systematic thinking and natural processes. Cylindrical columns carry architectural symbolism dating to classical traditions, functioning here as contemporary interpretations of the supportive element that enables spatial generosity above. The double-height volume creates what architectural phenomenology might term a space of aspiration, the vertical dimension inviting psychological elevation and contemplation beyond immediate functional concerns. Light enters as primary immaterial material, transforming concrete surfaces into subtle gradients that shift through the day, introducing temporal awareness and connection to natural cycles. The communal table arrangement at center establishes a symbolic hearth, a gathering point that activates human connection and social ritual within shared domestic space. The warm-cool chromatic dialogue between timber and concrete may be understood as embodying complementary principles, the amber warmth suggesting shelter and comfort while the cool gray concrete grounds the space in structural honesty. Pendant lights descend as vertical markers that define intimate zones within the generous volume, their positioning creating implied boundaries that humanize architectural scale while maintaining visual permeability throughout this thoughtfully orchestrated residential environment.
Back to the roots is the theme of the design. Since the building is located at the foot of Ali Mountain, a large amount of wood is used as the base, creating a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior. Hometown is deeply ingrained in the mind. The hometown will always be home no matter how long you're away. In the latter half of the journey of life, the homeowner has decided to move back to the hometown. This retirement abode highlights the deep-seated love and longing for the hometown, emphasizing the unbreakable bond with family and the lasting impact it has on life.
